My First Blog Post

Good morning!

God has placed it on my heart for awhile now to start a blog and this morning a miracle happened so I figured it was a good day to start writing.

I wake up every morning and read the bible, pray and just spend time with the Lord. This morning I was reading 2 Kings Chapter 2 and I started to have an ocular migraine. The symptoms of an ocular migraine are cloudy vision, starry vision, or in my case this morning, a big black cloud in the middle of my vision making it hard to see (or read, for that matter).

I closed my eyes and prayed that the Lord would take away my migraine so that I could continue reading His word. I remembered that Jesus told his disciples that if they used His name, and BELIEVED, then they could do all the healing and miracles they wanted. So, I believed in the name of Jesus, and I said, “because I believe you Jesus, I know that when I open my eyes, the migraine will be gone.” And, not surprisingly, but miraculously when I opened my eyes, the migraine was gone! Usually it takes 15-30 minutes for my vision to return to normal, but with the power of Jesus it was healed instantly. I am so blessed to have been able to witness a miracle this morning to start my day.

I’m in the middle of a prayer and fasting season with my whole church right now and they keep saying that God will do amazing things when you pray and fast (and the bible says so, too). This morning I was able to experience a small miracle of the Lord.

My prayer today is to let this miracle continue to build my faith, that the Lord continue to provide strength for me during this fasting season. That I can have compassion and love for all that I come in contact with and that this story might inspire others to follow Jesus. Thank you, Lord, for all of your blessings. Amen.
